The Coffee Philosophy: Two friends, Ben and Jody, were determined to create a house blend with the perfect taste. Their coffee house, The Coffee Philosophy, was a place loved by many. Not only because of its consistently superior-tasting coffee, but also because of Ben’s charisma as a barista. On the final battle of finding the perfect coffee, Ben’s Perfecto, Ben’s masterpiece, had to face Kopi Tiwus, a single origin coffee of Seno, an old man from an anonymous coffee hut in a remote village.

In The Search Of Herman: Hera was obsessed to meet someone named Herman. A simple wish which made brought many complications in Hera’s dramatic life. Attempt after attempt to find Herman denoted Hera’s chapters with a man she called “Brother”.

A Letter That Never Arrives: A heartbreaking prose of someone\’s love that has to be kept quiet forever and a piece of letter being the only channel for truth.

The Toothbrush: Tio never understood Egi’s concept of love. In his eyes, Egi was irrational and blind. Egi never understood Tio’s lack of understanding on love. In her eyes, Tio was too rational and rigid. Their contrasting perceptions were finally unified by a toothbrush.

A Piece Of Yellow Cake: Indi knew she had fallen in love with the wrong man. Yet, she continued to stay in love for years. A half yellow moon on the night sky became her bookmark in the search for her true freedom.

The Grief of Lana: Lana had the best friend ever, a perfect soul mate. But their friendship turned bitter, right during the moment Lana realized that friendship was the only thing that matters.

Buddha Bar: Nelly was enjoying the company of four irreplaceable men in her life: Probo, Omen, Jack, and Bejo. Each had their own strenghs and weaknesses. Nelly had to struggle between making a choice or making peace with the impossibility of making any choice.

Rico de Coro: A cockroach prince, Rico de Coro, fell in love with the beautiful Sarah. The problem was, Sarah was not a cockroach, but a human girl. King Hunter, Rico’s father, had tried to talk some sense to his son and failed every single time. Meanwhile, Sarah’s family was on a holy quest to hunt cockroaches to feed their hungry pet fish. In his desperate attempt to protect his family and kingdom, King Hunter found a way to avenge the humans, not realizing he might put Rico’s life in danger.

Adapted from Dee Lestari’s short story, Filosofi Kopi is a story of friendship, family, and the battle between perfection and acceptance.
